Antenna's American Diner, 22 Westow Hill, Crystal Palace, London SE19 !RX

Opening SOON (EST NOV 2013)

The Antenna Diner offers our customers classic american style food
in a cool relaxed and vibrant atmosphere.

Also someone noticed work going on in Pierre's. Anyone passing and up for a gander. It would be very good news if its being done up to be a drinking establishment again??

Yes Deli then I think Indian Restaurant in 2003 ... then I think pub ... then I gave up ;-)

If its the long empty place I am thinking of it was acquired by some local builders who drank in the Hollybush in the early 2000s who had fancy aspirations of turning it into a members only wine bar/club. It lay empty for years though as they faffed around, bizarrely with a strong work light on full glare for months on end. Guess leccy was cheaper then.

Antenna's American Diner
**WARNING: DROOL ALERT, PROTECT YOUR KEYBOARD**

Hi everyone, thanks SO MUCH for the new likes!! just to tell you all what's actually happening. We plan to open in November with a classic american menu serving breakfast, snacks, lunch, fresh donuts, waffles, pancakes, ice cream shakes and of course burgers and dogs in many varieties shapes and sizes (menu coming soon).

Now, there is a bit of a difference from 'normal' diners, we will be sourcing as much of the ingredients we can from ethical, organic and biodynamic sources (and with the least gallons o gas). Whats MORE is that we are also giving loads of options for the gluten intolerant, vegetarians and vegans because we really don't want anyone to be left out from having a good meal.

More news coming over the next few weeks and if you are walking past, take a peek through the window (but don't disturb Dave the builder or he might hit his thumb with the hammer!!)

In the mean time, like us on twitter and keep an eye for pre-launch updates! and why not share with your friends!?!

Eh? I'm sorry but I don't like the AmericaniSation of our language. I love the way our language evolves however I don't like intrusions that are erroneous. I presume when ordering I will have to say 'can I get' instead of 'could I please have'

Not for me thanks

AmericaniSation? -ize was around before -ise, it's just the Yanks kept the original and we chose to be awkward...

I'm sure I could find many links to negate that. However I can't be arsed. Or should that be assed

You can stick that in your fanny pack for free

I notice 'can I get' didn't get a rebuttal.

Night y'all

Sidders is right on that!

I like pedantry as much as the next person - considerably more, in fact - but I'm not with you on this, Constable.
Your statement is more than a little bit internally contradictoryConstable Haywain wrote:

This is the country that thinks 'was sat' is grammatical.

Still not convinced. 'Was sat'? What does that have to do with this conversation. And who indeed, if anyone uses it.

My comment was not contradictory in the slightest. Whatever 'internally' means I haven't a clue.

You want to challenge on the bagel and can I get bit?

Anyway, to coin citizen m, maybe I should chill out. I just need a sense of status quo

ya get me bruv

What? No, not at all. I said that as I could have found a link to prove otherwise and then someone else would have found another counter link

Can't believe no one has picked up on Sidney's status quo quip

Good one

Somebody posted on t'other site that lights were on in Pierre's Bar yesterday and work was clearly going on. If anyone is going past and folk are in there, could they poke their head in door and ask?

The original yoghurt is yogurt (with a silent g). it comes from Turkish. And 'to coin a phrase' means to invent a phrase, not to copy that phrase or use a phrase that someone else said.
